Walter Cronkite

9/26/80-NEW YORK: Walter Cronkite poses with his son, Chip, during the filming of "A Private Battle," a two-hour CBS Television Special airing on Tuesday night, 10/7. Walter recreates part of one of his telecasts, delivering one of the few on-air eulogies in his career. Chip Cronkite served as an assistant film editor on this production, which marks the first time father and son were involved with the same professional project. Cronkite was a close personal friend of famed author Cornelius Ryan, upon whose four-and-a-half-year battle with cancer the special, "A Private Battle," is based. UPI.
