Sophia Loren and Placido Domingo got together this afternoon at the home of Anna Strasberg to discuss the Lee Strasberg Lifetime Achievement Award, which they have organized as an ongoing memorial to Anna's late husband. The first recipient of this award will be Lucille Lortel, the "queen of Off-Broadway," and the presentation will be made at a gala dinner in the spring.
Placido is appearing at the Met this season. His latest movie is Bizet's Carmen, in which he plays the lead role. Sophia is working on a production of her new movie, in which she will star with her son, which is produced by her husband, Carlo Ponti.
Sophia designs glasses as well as having her own line of perfume.
