Book: "David Frost's Book of the World's Most Outrageous Rich People"—Aristotle Onassis's yacht, Christina, began its life as a Canadian Navy frigate. The Greek shipping tycoon, however, had it remodelled at a cost in 1954 of 3 million dollars ($10.4 million today). The ship had gold taps in the Sienna marble bathrooms, bar stools covered with whales' testicles—and not one but two El Greco paintings. A 1961 photo of Aristotle Onassis (see caption below).
