Jan. 11, 1983: Mr. "Rock n Roll" himself, Mick Jagger, and his model girlfriend Jerry Hall with Angelica Huston leaving La Scala Restaurant in California after having dinner. In a recent Daily News article written by Michael London, Mick expresses his desire to make movies. He’s mildly envious of David Bowie, a fellow British rock star who had managed a successful conversion to movies. Mick says, "I can't imagine having given up the last five years of my life for acting," he adds. "Especially the tour. No picture could have made that kind of splash unless I’d done E.T." Despite his distaste for the vagaries of filmmaking, Jagger seems strongly attracted. His acting ambitions seem part of a genuine desire to escape, not enhance the Jagger persona. "I’ve been playing the same character for a long time," he says wearily. "I’d like to entertain people in a different way."
