Tonight was the premiere screening of the new MGM movie 'That's Dancing' held at the Ziegfeld Theater, NYC with a party held afterwards at the Hilton Hotel. 'That's Dancing' is a sequel to the 'That's Entertainment' movies featuring some newly released scenes from old classic movies.
Tonight's screening was a benefit for the American Film Institute. Gene Kelly provides the narration for the opening and closing sections of 'That's Dancing,' an over-the-years movie amalgam ranging from the soft shoe to breaking.

In 'That's Dancing,' Liza Minnelli makes a special appearance; there are some newly released scenes from 'The Wizard of Oz,' which starred Liza's mom, Judy Garland. 'That's Dancing' was written and directed by Jack Haley Jr., Liza's ex-husband.

Liza was escorted this evening by her husband, producer/sculptor Mark Gero. The last Broadway play Liza was in was 'The Rink' with Chita Rivera. Following the play, Liza was admitted to the Betty Ford Clinic for drug and alcohol abuse.
