A press conference was held today in Los Angeles to announce that Liza Minnelli has been selected as the recipient of the California Friar's Club "Life Achievement Award," this was announced by Milton Berle, Griars Club president. Minnelli will receive the award in recognition of her "outstanding achievements in the international entertainment area" at a gala event on Jan. 17, 1987 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
